We are thrilled to share that LOCVM won the Scale-Up Innovator Award at the Mitacs Health Innovation Showcase, held on September 10, 2026 at Brampton Venture Expo (BVX). The showcase was organized by Toronto Metropolitan University's Brampton Venture Zone in partnership with Mitacs, and awarded $80,000 in prizes to health-tech startups building in Brampton.
The award comes with $15,000, and every dollar is going toward growth: bringing more clinics onto the platform across Ontario, expanding to more specialties, and continuing to make booking a locum as easy as booking anything else online. Physicians on LOCVM should expect more opportunities in more places, and clinics should expect faster, more reliable coverage.
This win also comes at the end of a big year for LOCVM. We were named to the Brampton Venture Zone Launch cohort, presented at the BVZ Health Innovation Showcase at TMU's School of Medicine in August, and were featured by Dr. Bill, IDEA Mississauga, and the Ontario Medical Association along the way. Being recognized for both innovation and readiness to scale tells us the problem we set out to solve is real, the solution works, and it is time to bring it to far more physicians and clinics.
